A condenser is a device that returns high-temperature, high-pressure steam, which is needed to operate a steam turbine in a thermal power plant, by exchanging heat with a coolant. Because of the large quantity of coolant required, power plants are typically located near rivers or bodies of water. When seawater is used as the coolant, excellent corrosion-resistant titanium welded pipes or plates are used.
